End of the Week
It's the end of the week. Daughter is asleep, three of four cats are sleeping in the computer room, and the A/C is humming along, trying in vain to keep it livable up here on the second floor.
The weather was in full summer bloom this week and I made sure to take advantage of the sunny days by getting out for a 1.5 mile wagon pull while my daughter looked at the flowers blooming in the fields, people walking their dogs, and kids playing soccer at the park. I was amused listening to her go on and on about her sun glasses, or 'eyes' as she calls them. After getting off to a slow start in the speaking skills, she has become somewhat of a chatterbox lately.
It was also a week of small victories for me. In my half-hearted attempt to get myself in shape I have been hitting the rowing machines, going on the aforementioned walks, and eating a bit better. I only had two pops this week; way down from the old habit of 2-3 per day! There was also a good bit of progress on the living room/foyer painting project at the expense of a couple very late nights. I'd much rather paint during the day when it's easier to see my work in the sunlight, but 2 year olds have a knack for 'helping' a little too much when you really wish they would sit and play for a while. Next week and i have a lot to do, way too much in fact, and will have to whittle down the list else I go mad and end up without any accomplishments.
